Several months ago, Joe Biden said he thought Barack Obama wasn't ready to be President. That was more than one year ago, but there are millions of voters who feel exactly the way Joe Biden felt about Barack Obama.
That's why the latest McCain attack ad starring Joe Biden should be seen as a gift to Barack Obama. Joe Biden is a former sceptic of Obama's qualification and readiness for the highest job in the land and toughest job in the world. And he's not just a former skeptic - he's one with enough knowledge and experience to question Obama's experience. That makes him the best guy to look into the camera and speak directly to other skeptics - seniors, independents and Republicans who don't want to reward the Republican Party for 8 years of failure, but at the same time are very concerned about National Security and other major issues that require capable hands.
The Obama camp should cut an ad with the exact same Biden clip McCain used and get Joe Biden himself to say how and why he overcame his doubts about Obama's experience, tout Obama's intelligence, good judgment and joke about the fact that Obama picked him, even though he called him a "clean articulate black man", an innocent comment considered by some to be a racial attack at Barack Obama.
He would also talk about past Presidents, particularly one from Illinois who enlisted people who didn't necessarily agree with him, as long as they could help him solve the country's problems. Besides, if Barack Obama would meet with Ahmedinejad to solve common problems that affect the world, he could certainly do what Abraham Lincoln and Ronald Reagan did - surround himself with competent, independent people who could disagree with him.
So what's your take on the idea of such an ad from the Obama campaign?
