As a Denver native I figured I'd list a couple choices for good, cheap-to-moderately priced food that's outside of downtown and easily accessible from the downtown area. It's my Sunday public service to the many of you that I'm sure are coming to our fair city this week.
Restaurants below the fold....
Sushi/Tempura:
Namiko's
7310 W. 52nd Avenue, Arvada
Regardless of what snobbish folks may say, this is likely the best sushi in Denver. It's at I-70 and Wadsworth, about 15 minutes from downtown. You can get out for 20-30 bucks a person and be VERY satisfied. Great atmosphere with huge aquarium.
Vietnamese:
New Saigon
630 S. Federal Blvd.
Denver, CO 80219
303-936-4954
Has often won for best Vietnamese restaurant. This restaurant is about 10 minutes from downtown. 1 mile south of the 6th avenue highway on Federal Blvd. My personal favorite restaurant, meals are 7 - 15 dollars.
Mexican:
La Loma
303-433-8300
East of 26th and Federal. Take Speer Boulevard north out of downtown to 29th and you're almost there. 5 minutes out of downtown
Homemade Mexican food, nice friendly atmosphere. I love the Chile Rellenos, fajitas and the salsa. Green chili is great. You can get out for around 9-13 dollars a person. Good family restaurant atmosphere.
Cuban:
Cuba Cuba
1173 Delaware St
303-605-2822
This one's downtown and more well known but still a great place. Some of the best mojitos in town with a good short happy hour from 5 - 6:15 PM. A little more expensive at around 15-24 dollars a person. Oh, and good friends of mine live next door, which makes me jealous whenever there's live music.
I'll stop there for now, but hopefully that helps a few of you when you come here this week.
Disclosure - I don't work for any of these places.
Anybody else got a good restaurant they want to share? Please list below and I will attempt to update.
