"Imagine Denver under missile attack from nearby Boulder."
That's the first line of a real ad, running on television, being run by a group called "The Israel Project." I personally saw it during the Daily Show - I thought it was parody at first. It's not.
Using slick graphics, the ad shows missiles rising out of Boulder and exploding in Denver, then fades to a map of Israel, also under attack, while the narration says "Since 2005, Israel has been targeted by 8,000 rocket and missile attacks from Hamas and Hezbollah."
Just so we're clear: Boulder is Hamas and Hezbollah, and Denver is Israel.
The end point of the ad is to raise fears of a nuclear-armed Iran.
A nuclear Iran is a threat to peace, emboldens extremists ...and could give nuclear materials to terrorists with the ability to strike -- anywhere.
The world’s leaders can peacefully prevent a nuclear Iran. The time to act is now.
This is as repellent a piece of garbage as I've ever seen. I live 17 miles from Boulder - it's a town of parks, green space and bike trails. It's the most peaceful community imaginable. They ad could have chosen any number of communities, but it chose Boulder.
