According to accuweather and The Weather Channel Hurricane Gustav has a good chance of passing through the Yucatan Channel and entering the Gulf around Labor Day, as I heard on the Weather Channel this morning. After that, the projected path is rather fuzzy and worries me a great deal. This will be around the same time as the GOP convention, which made me wonder......
would this hurricane's entry into the Gulf remind Americans (if it doesn't remind the Rethugs, which it probably won't, as they eat their cake) of Katrina and Rita? Because by then, forecasters would have a better idea of where this storm was headed?
As you can figure, I'm stressed out over this--my Katrina vicarious PTSD has started kicking. I hope Gustav keeps away from New Orleans and the rest of that area, Florida, or anyplace else in the US for that matter.
Now for the Blogathon: One of the diarists suggested that because of the conventions putting on the Blogathon a week later would be a better. So I've decided because everyone I've heard back from is in favor of this change, the following will be the new schedule:
