So they've gotten this far. Inspired so many, achieved so much. They may go all the way.
But Team Obama is on the verge of making the most collosal of mistakes and there's nothing we can do to stop them.
Greek Columns?!?!?!

Obama's acceptance speech is set for Thursday night. Historic, inspired and moment that won't soon be forgotten.
But apparently, Team Obama decided the candidate, his achievement and message aren't enough. So they're building a fake Greek Temple -- or mock-up of a faux-Washington DC-style monument or memorial or federal building.
What the hell are they thinking? And is there any way anyone can think of to stop them? Anyone from Team Obama here? Anyone?
If Obama has one problem keeping him from winning this election, it's the lack of connection he's making with the voters. Let's face it, the "Celebrity" ads have hurt, the Media has piled on, and Team Obama is looking for answers and finding a few. But Greek Columns is not one of them.
In fact, the fake Hollywood-style set threatens to be his version of McCain's "house" gaffe.
This blunder will feed the media narrative fed by the GOP that Obama is a "celebrity" who is arrogant and presumptuous. They did it with that silly faux-POTUS seal and this looms as even more damaging. And the GOP surrogates and Andrew Sullivan and ABCnews.com, and TPM are picking up on it.
A crowning moment will be ridiculed from The Daily Show to Fox News and all points between. What a shame. Here's hoping they change course -- take down the silly columns and keep it simple.
A podium. A microphone. An American flag. And Obama's speech to the nation. That's all he needs.
*** And this isn't "Concern Trolling" or "Sky is Falling" ... I'm as invested in this campaign as I can be...I just cringe when I see him/it trivialized or ridiculed...and this is just too easy and so very avoidable.
*** Bill Burton on MSNBC getting ridiculed as I type for the God-Like Set they've constructed...and they showed a helicopter overhead shot and it looks like a friggin' Celine Dion concert stage....And Bill Burton is oblivious to the message it sends...unreal.
UPDATE: I WANT TO BE WRONG ON THIS....maybe the set will evolve into something more humble...here's hoping...
