The title pretty much tells the story.
AT&T throws a party for Democrats that aided and abetted their illegal wiretapping and event security ditched bloggers including Ms. Hamisher from Firedog Lake, Glenn Greenwald and Amy Goodman.
On Monday night, AT&T held a 'Blue Dog' fundraiser for the group of congressional Democrats who endorsed the recent bill that gave immunity to telecoms for President Bush's warrantless wiretapping program.
The affair was held at Mile High Station, which is one of the closest buildings to Invesco field at Mile High Stadium in Denver, Colorado where the Democratic National Convention is being held.
While delegates came in and out of the party, it wasn't as easy for approved Democratic bloggers and reporters. Amy Goodman of DemocracyNow, Jane Hamsher of Firedoglake and Glenn Greenwald of Salon.com were ushered away by event security. All three had valid press passes to cover the Democratic National Convention.
This is, to me, a great example of what we - progressive/liberal/non-corporate suck-ups - have going against "real change". Giant money from vastly wealthy corporations.
Cheering their wholesale discount of our rights and the rule of Law.
And those "Blue Dogs" just lapping it up.
Sellouts.
They hate out freedoms because the corporations that own them find the constitution to be a nuisance and an impediment to really violating what privacy we have left.
And while they couldn't say "boo" to Bush they found a way to profit personally from selling out our "rights".
And they throw a party to celebrate it.
