I watched Hillary Clinton's speech on c-span and was impressed as heck. She rallied her troops and told them in no uncertain terms that they'd be wrong to vote for anyone but Barack Obama. And she did it in inspirational fashion, as far as I can see.
Based on a conversation in another thread, I thought I'd gather some snippets of the Traditional Media analysis of HRC's speech.
It's all below the fold...
Reuters: Hillary Clinton urges Democrats to unite behind Obama
AP: Clinton salutes Obama as Dems rip McCain at DNC
(compare with an earlier piece from the AP via WSJ "Democrats Bicker Over How To Fight Attacks From McCain")
AFP: Obama 'my candidate': Clinton tells Democrats to unite
Boston Globe: Clinton calls for unity
International Herald Tribune: Hillary Clinton urging supporters to back Obama
LA Times: Hillary Clinton takes the stage as Obama's advocate
Fox News: Clinton: ‘The Time Is Now to Unite’
(Of course, it's got negativity in it, but it still compares favorably to an earier piece: Page Turns for Democratic Party, But Bill Clinton Still Has Role)
ahh, the good old National Review: I Wonder If Obama Is Regretting Picking Biden Right Now
H/T to socratic for the inspiration, and for this:
MSNBC: Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton issues a ringing call for her backers to rally behind Sen. Barack Obama, saying Democrats cannot afford to stay home in November and let another Republican administration ruin the economy.
CNN: Hillary Clinton called herself a "proud supporter of Barack Obama" after Democratic convention delegates greeted her with a standing ovation: "Barack Obama is my candidate. And he must be our president."
You can find the text of Hillary's speech here.
Check out those, and more at Google News. So... do you think they got the message?
UPDATE:
According to a diary by Michael D, the Minneapolis Star Tribune recently cancelled their AP service. Their take on Clinton's speech? Needing the Clintons' help to win supporters, Obama campaign searches for the right convention role for them. I'd call that one "tepid." Shared from a Houston Chronicle reporter, apparently.
Swiss Info: Clinton delivers ringing call for Democratic unity
UPDATE 2:
CNN: Clinton: Obama 'must be our president'

This is Ron Fournier's piece. Read the whole thing - it's laced with negativity and pragmatism, and some positive bits as well.
