Regardless of what the gasbags say, I think the Democratic Party scored another win tonight.
Will Chris Matthews give up the PUMAs? Not a chance! I witnessed Tweety pumping that corpse one more time during the afterglow. Too grisly to describe further.
And speaking of grisly, the finish on MSNBC had the NBC bigwigs on the convention floor, lounging on folding chairs and talking. The self-importance simply oozed, but I’ve come to expect that when dealing with people like David Gregory.
Andrea Mitchell sounded like ‘Dear Abby’, worrying about ‘hurt feelings’ in the Senate. What’s next, Mrs. Greenspan, advice for the lovelorn?
I didn’t loose it until I saw a repeat of Dennis Kucinich’s ‘Wake Up America’ speech. I recommend SarahLee’s current diary if you haven’t seen it. Thank you, Representative Kucinich, for reminding me why I stick with the Democratic Party.
I am indebted to Senator Hillary Clinton for delivering an inspiring and compelling speech. ‘Keep going’ keeps ringing in my head. It was a speech delivered with honest passion, in a ringing tone that makes the speaker sound like someone delivering a message from the future. Thank you, Senator Clinton, for reminding us of the importance of this election and for giving a clear example of support.
If Senator Clinton gave voice to the future, Representative Kucinick was the clarion call of the present, his voice singing out warning and demanding accountability. He inverted the false argument of ‘left vs. right’ by suggesting the real equation was ‘UP vs. DOWN’. He called out all of Cheney’s Streetwalkers. He spoke for me.
I was so damn grateful, I started to cry.
