Am I the only one to be surprised that...
The Chinese were lavishly praised by the mainstream press for running an efficient Olympic Games. Since when is it a surprise that a totalitarian police state runs an efficient public event?
Ron Suskind reveals in his new book Way of the World that Bush knew three months before the Iraq invasion Saddam had destroyed all his WMD. Also that the White House ordered the CIA to forge a letter from the former head of the Iraqi secret service fabricating an Iraq -- Al Qaeda link. And there's still no full-throated, lavishly-funded, Whitewater-style, in-the-full-glare-of-publicity congressional investigation?
In her convention speech Hillary Clinton praises Harriet Tubman as a transformative black woman who did good things for some escaping black slaves – but fails to mention that Barrack Obama has already done more for U.S. blacks than any other figure in our history simply for being who he is? And calls John McCain her friend even though he called her daughter ugly because her father was Janet Reno? And is actually praised for her tangerine colored pant suit in the New York Times?!
The arrogant imbecility and ideological fanaticism of Bush foreign policy has already given us two concurrent catastrophic wars – and is working hard on a third? Twenty-years after we won the cold war, Bush is doing his damnedest to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory and lose it all over again in Georgia and Poland. Just where IS that full-throated, lavishly-funded, Whitewater-style, in-the-full-glare-of-publicity congressional investigation?
Dennis Kucinich so far has made more sense than any of the other speakers at the Democratic convention? And that the only place to hear him as far as I could tell was on C-Span?
Despite the fact that her husband is a Bush lick-spittle, CNN's Campbell Brown isn't treated as a partisan hack by any of her guests except the never-to-be-invited-back Laura Flanders)?
The right seems to have an endless supply of forceful blowhards to speak for them, all of whom employ the man on the podium technique of monopolizing the conversation, while the left only has Keith Olberman?
Just wondering...
