Seriously, when I watched most of the convention on CSPAN last night, I thought it was painfully obvious the Dem Convention really kicked everything into overdrive. I couldn't tell you how many times the speeches gave me chills of excitement and/or almost brought me to tears of happiness & pride.
This is really sayin something....cause I am huge cynic. I'm a no frills, no BS kinda guy. I don't care for all the crap rainbows and smile PR approach. Hell, I'm so cynical that I wasn't even a big fan of Barack's 04 convention speech. (I personally think he's given numerous speeches since then that blow that one away...but that's just me)
In short, The 2004 convention literally put me to sleep while watching it!
I went into watching tonight complaining to friends about how the speakers still weren't hitting hard enough. Well tonight, they did. I mean, overall....they really hit the ball outta the park.
So when I got into my car and flipped on NPR to hear them talk about Biden's speech being "really flawed, awkward and probably not going over well with the viewers" I was well, shocked.
Then when another reporter went on about being concerned that this convention was being perceived as "all flash & no substance" the whole NPR gang piled on in an unusually long tangent of agreement.
They said Kerry's speech "dwelled on the past and wasn't productive."
They said Bill Clinton's speech was really good except, they weren't sure "if it was enough.." Whatever that was supposed to mean.
Anyway, was just curious if any of y'all caught this BS. I mean, it really seemed like a concerted effort to dampen the entire evening.
WTF?!!!!!!!!!
Anyway, thanks for reading my little rant.
Feel free to let 'em know what you think.
