John McCain will name his VP pick tomorrow. But there is no suspense. I know who it has to be. And why. And you will read it and agree and smack yourself in the forehead for not realizing it sooner. You'll urge me to include "BREAKING" in the title of this diary. (But I won't do it) Even though it is THAT important.
John McCain has no choice. On Friday he will ask Hillary Clinton to be his VP. Why? How? ...below the fold-----
That's right. HILLARY. You know why? Because, as EVERY.STINKIN.PUNDIT has said all this week
If he doesn't put Hillary on the ticket, then people will ask why she was passed over for vice president after getting 18 million votes in the primary.
McSame recieved just under 10 million votes in the 2008 Republican primary. Hillary received over 18 million. So clearly, if McCain does not put Hillary on the ticket, its a sign of weakness and its good for Obama.
McCain is already running ads featuring Hillary speaking well of his candidacy. So her opinions clearly matter to him. On ABC's This Week, McCain said
MCCAIN: Well, look, here’s — Sen. Clinton and I are sitting next to each other, and we’re asked, "Would she," quote, "be a good president?" She would be a good president in the respect that I think she has integrity, I think she has all of the qualities that are necessary
All week long we've heard how distraught McCain and George Will and Sean Hannity and Karl Rove are that Hillary has not gotten the respect she earned this primary season. They are concerned that her supporters have earned the right to see her name on the ballot. Well, surely John McCain can't make the (Mc)same mistake that he's criticized Barak for making? Right?
The race is tight. Joe Scarborough told me so. McCain clearly cannot afford to overlook the second biggest vote-getter in this election cycle.
And someone has already purchased the website!!!!
Admit it. I'm right.
