I was born in Dayton, Ohio. Many of my family still live in Dayton's many suburbs. Dayton, and Ohio, hold many wonderful memories for me. Here is the city of my birth:
I am deeply offended that John McShame will be fouling the Nutter Center with his hate, distortions, and lies tomorrow. He will also be appointing his proposed vice-stooge in a slimy attempt to step on whatever momentum Senator Obama generates tonight.
Please glance at my diary and see why I'm so angry that McShame is using Dayton as his platform.
I was born in Dayton. What a place to be a kid in the Summer. The Little Miami River, the Mad River, Drive-In theaters, Lightning bugs, King's Island! I have so many good memories.
Now John McShame will befoul that city by spewing his divisive poison in the Nutter Center tomorrow. What a horrible mockery of the dilemma Dayton and many cities like her are in. The GM part plants that provided a good living for many are all gone now. The GM factory in Moraine is closed. Mead is long gone. GE isn't gone, but it ain't growing. All that's left is Wright Patterson and the Universities.
John McShames plan to help Dayton? Tax cuts for the investor class? How many of you Daytonites have trust funds? My family didn't give me one. At least McShame will continue endless, aimless, war across the globe--so you can enlist because there will be no jobs other than the local 7-11 or Skyline Chili. Wright-Pat will probably benefit.
People of Dayton, please, protest this vile man. People of Dayton, don't go inside the "Nut-house" to see him. People of Dayton, when he doesn't fill even the humble Nutter Center, make sure your friends, neighbors, and local media get the joke. And, most of all, people of Dayton, do all you can to defeat John McShame. Dayton, and our country can't take four more years of this. Thanks.
