Tonight in Denver, before nearly 80,000 VOTERS, Barack Obama will become the first African American to accept the nomination of one of the major parties as their candidate for President of the United States of America. Per the Boston Globe, one of his zingers regarding the Republicans will be "Eight is Enough". A little more on that below.
Here is a quote from Obama's speech from the Boston Globe:
This moment – this election – is our chance to keep, in the 21st century, the American promise alive. Because next week, in Minnesota, the same party that brought you two terms of George Bush and Dick Cheney will ask this country for a third. And we are here because we love this country too much to let the next four years look just like the last eight. On November 4th, we must stand up and say: "Eight is enough."
Eight is Enough! Hell, Four was enough, but since we're there, Eight is E-F'in Nuff!
I can't wait for the speech and hope he hits a grand slam and the result is the view of a distant McSame in Obama's rearview mirror.
But while we're waiting, just think about the fact that right now, this very minute, Obama has packed nearly 80,000 people into Mile High Stadium and McSame is passing out coupons trying to get folks to show up tomorrow at the Piggly Wiggly for his VP announcement. Actually, it's to be in my home state of Ohio, in Dayton at the Nutter Fieldhouse...which the locals affectionately call "the nut house." You can't make schtuff like that up. McSame announcing his VP in the Nut House.
EIGHT IS ENOUGH!
GOOD LUCK BARACK!
UNITY!
PS: Loving Stevie Wonder!
