Is anybody watching Tavis Smiley right now? Julianne Malveaux was WAY yanked about Obama not actually saying Martin Luther King's name, on top of a bunch of other perceived slights. She actually said Obama "Perpetrated a whitewash of our history."
Tavis made her think about that, but she stood behind it. Cornell West was sort of singing along with the choir, but wasn't nearly as incendiary.
I appreciate what they would like to represent, but I know they're smart enough to know what Barack was doing and had to do. Which doesn't mean they have to like it, I guess.
But is there really a point to suggesting this minutes after the speech?
She had the nards to say that African-Americans would canvas two blocks instead of the three they might have, give $23 instead of $25 . . .
