Given the Obama campaign's heavy emphasis the past few days on Sen. McCain's opposition to "Equal Pay for Women", I think it would be a smart move to craft some sort of advertisement which distinctly points out that if Gov. Palin were to become Vice-President, Sen. McCain would have no problem giving her a smaller salary than what Dick Cheney received.
Such a message might help blunt the effect of Sen. McCain placing a woman on the card, which might be tempting to some of the undecided moderate women voters out there. It will remind them that what really matters is who is on the top of the ticket, and that even Gov. Palin herself would be subject to unequal pay given Sen. McCain's track record in the Senate.
I think it's an effective issue ad that is just waiting to be put together...
