I am sorry, but this is a joke. Sarah Palin is a joke. A lot of people have been claiming that she is no Quayle and we should take her seriously. I don't disagree on her not being Quayle. She is not. There will be no "potatoe" moments with Mrs. Palin--but after watching her speech, I could only come to one conclusion: this woman is an abosulte joke.
"I was just an average hockey mom"
"I became president of my local PTA"
"I became mayor of my hometown!" (Of 7,000 people)
"I cut property taxes!"
Are you FUCKING KIDDING ME? Her biggest achievement is to cut the property taxes of her hometown? I'm guessing that makes half of America's mayors ready to become vice president.
This woman is a total joke. I cannot emphasize this enough. The more I sit here reflecting on that speech the more I realize how this is not someone we need to be afraid of.
The McCain campaign really wants us to believe that this woman, who has been governor for a year and a half, and who's previous achievements were being a proud hockey mom, runner up in Miss Alaska 1984, and the mayor of her small hometown is ready to become President of the United States at any moment?
Really?
This "Hockey mom" is ready to deal with the lion's den that is the US Congress to pass important legislation? Her experience cutting property taxes in her tiny town is experience enough? This is the woman who is ready to handle the economic crisis we are embroiled in right now? This is the woman who is ready to command the United States Armed Services? This is a woman who is ready to stare down dictators around the world and be taken seriously by the world's leaders? This "PTA mom" is going to find Osama Bin Laden?
This woman is a joke. It is an insult to all women by the McCain campaign to believe that women, especially former Hillary supports will flock to her campaign just because she is a woman. She is no Hillary Clinton.
Furthermore, it is an insult to all Republican women--out of all the Republican female leaders in the Congress and states, McCain arguably picked the most unqualified woman of them all. It is a sign of immense disrespect and unseriousness of his campaign.
Repeat after me, this woman is a JOKE, an insult to the intelligence of women, and a slap in the face to the qualified Republican women who could occupy the Vice Presidential slot.
