"What a long, strange trip it's been..."

The link is from Fox but its also apparently been reported by the AP. It's been rumored for weeks that the Dead wanted to do another concert or two for Obama. Last February the Dead, sans "Rythem Devil" drummer Bill Kruetzmann, played a show for the Obama Campaign in San Francisco on the eve of Super Tuesday. San Francisco was just about the only part of the Golden State than Obama won in the primary.
Obama is hardly a Deadhead but he is known to have a few of the band's songs on his I-Pod. So far big rock stars have been less visible for Obama than for John Kerry 4 years ago but with the campaign heating up my suess is that more will hit the road to help, especially with voter registration.
What's next, an Abba reunion for McCain? What bands were popular when he was a young guy -- Lawrence Welk? The thin Sinatra? The Andrews Sisters?
