This bullshit line that she told Congress "thanks but not thanks" on the bridge to nowhere is an absolute lie. Thanks to a NY Times article, it is clear that, as long as the federal government was kicking in the majority of the money, she was enthusiastically for the project, even for hurrying to do it, while they still had the pull, in 2006. She did NOT tell Congress "thanks but no thanks", all she said was "thanks, and let's hurry up".
Once Congress took away the federal funding that left the $392 million project about $320 million short without the federal money, Palin said it was still needed but they simply couldn't do it if Alaska had to pay for it.
At no point in time did she tell Congress to take this money away. She in fact told Alaska, once the money was taken away, that they couldn't afford it. This type of "legend in their own mind" statement should be a gigantic red flag to people who are enthused about her. And, hint to McCain, when speaking together with her on stage, stop staring at her breasts. I know you don't understand technology, but we can see you on our television screens.
As requested, here is a link to the NY Times article that details her record of support then no support (or rather no money) for the bridge.
