I run the National Political Do Not Contact Registry, a non-partisan non-profit that is dedicated to giving the voter the right to opt out of unwanted political robo calls and other communication.
I testified at the U.S. Senate for Sen. Feinstein (D-CA) and her Robocall Privacy Act and we work every day to advocate for the over 90 million voters that get unwanted robo calls each election cycle.
We have come close to shutting down robos in CA by demanding that the CA Public Utilities Commission enforce an existing robo call ban. 30 million CA residents may have a much quieter election this Fall.
I'm asking that you join us by recording the robo calls you get and alerting my org so that we can create a database of these insidious calls.
More about What you can do......
What you can do when you get a robo call:
- Record it!
- Record the time, day, campaign and caller ID number that you receive
- Upload it to the internet
- Let us know about it by sending an email to the following address:
- info AT citizensforcivildiscourse.org
- With the following subject: "Robocall Recording from XX State"
- If you live in CA or MN make sure that you fill out the following robocall complaint forms and let your local campaigns and authorities know what you are doing:
California complaint form is here.
Minnessota complaint form is here.
NOTE: You can see our robocall hall of shame here.
Thanks!
