OR: Is Iraq our own Palin-baby?
I could go on.
This is getting to be like that old joke about the pious fellow who shows up at the Pearly Gates complaining about being drowned. St. Peter says, hey, we sent you a car, then a boat, then a helicopter -- but you just sat on your roof saying "the Lord will provide" while the water rose. . . .
Well:
9/11, Katrina, DHS, FEMA's implosion, Putin's eyes, salmonella rising, poisoned pet food, gutting of the middle class.
etc etc etc
When did we learn to believe anything spoken in self-righteous tones over the evidence presented to our own lyin' eyes?
John McCain made Sarah Palin his running mate and insulted us all. There are a lot of perky, cute, quirky people in this world and I wish them well. That doesn't mean I think it's a good idea that they make the laws I have to live by.
Sarah Palin seems to have no sense of other people's existence as separate and sacred human beings. Whoever is the birth mother of Trig, Sarah Palin's unfortunate daughter Bristol -- who isn't even 18 years old -- is now pregnant.
For the rest of her life, Bristol will suffer the consequences of Sarah Palin's self-centered righteousness.
For the rest of our lives, and our children's lives and probably longer than that, our country will suffer the consequences of George W. Bush's self-centered sociopathy.
There will always be Bushes and Palins in this world, but must we be Palin-drones?
Sarah Palin has created the kind of "loving home" that forces an underage girl to give birth. Will that finally shock our sense of what is right and wake us up?
Destruction and despair, not to mention inconvenience, are results that people like Palin specifically and the Republican Party generally don't mind leaving in their wakes.
When will we stop being that guy on the roof, relying on magical thinking to save us from real dangers? When will we stop being Palin-drones?
