It is so fascinating that after nearly 8 years of disastrous right-wing conservative
governance, conservatives are over joyed at the prospect of Sara Palin as veep.
But why? Shouldn't all wingnuts be thoroughly ashamed at what their ideology has wrought?
I just heard Buchanan on MSNBC say that conservatives are excited beause she is "one of us." So were Bush and Cheney.
If a liberal administration had presided over such a debacle liberals would be very quiet at a Democratic convention. Is it because Wingnuts don't really ultimately care about this country except as a CHRISTIAN country? That their sick superstitious, anti-human brutal ideology of unfettered capitalism and militarism is more important than the United States and its constitution?
Here's where Gov. Palin comes in. She is a virtual unknown to most Americans, but she has become a sweetheart to the conservatives at the party's base. Her antiabortion views, her anticountry-club image, even her crusades against the party establishment in her state all appeal to core conservatives.
"She brings to the table an energized conservative base that was lacking a bit," says Mr. Greg Mueller. And that conservative base, he adds, "is absolutely crucial in this campaign, given it is this base that knocks on doors, rings the phones and fliers the strip malls and the churches to get the vote out."

When will conservatism ever be discredited? I know, I know, CONSERVATISM never fails, it's MAN that fails conservatism.
Finally, I'd like to ask Sarah Palin what part of Mr. Bush's debacle on both foreign and domestic fronts does she disagree with? If the ideology is flawed, then how can an arguably unqualified one and a half year governor make it work?
Think we'll get an answer before she speaks at the RNC?
