The barn door has been open for five days, and the McCain campaign is just now trying to close it.
John McCain’s campaign on Wednesday angrily called for an end to questions about its review of Sarah Palin’s background, deriding a "faux media scandal designed to destroy the first female Republican nominee" for vice president.
"This nonsense is over," declared senior campaign adviser Steve Schmidt in a written statement.
Sounds to me like Team McCain has revealed two things--it has a funny definition of nonsense, and has revealed a lot about its scruples. Based on the former, the latter is clearly as low as the current (mis)administration.
So the McCain campaign thinks questions about Palin's background are nonsense, huh? So I guess this means the following details are nonsense:

So Senator, you mean to tell the American people that questions about your first real test of how presidential you are don't matter? It sounds like you are. If that's the case, Senator, you've just told the American people that your views on the ethics of your colleagues are the same as Bush. Remind us again--you're supposed to be a maverick?
