I just registered the domain name wearecommunityorganizers.org
It's kind of long, it's kind of esoteric, and there's nothing there yet. But since when is being a "Community Organizer" a bad thing? I want to take it back. I want to hear your stories, the stories from this community, and your own community. I will do whatever I am able to do to help us win the framing battle on this, because it's important. At least, I think it's important. I want to share those stories of Democracy in Action. If anyone else thinks this is a good idea, let me know in the comments. I'm going to sleep as soon as I publish this too-short diary, and it will probably get buried and be gone tomorrow morning.
But if it's not, and if anyone else was as pissed off as I was to hear Sarah Palin dismiss the work of the people who run both our campaign and hers, speak up. "Community Organizers" don't do nothing, Sarah Palin. Jesus was a "Community Organizer." So were Thomas Paine, Martin Luther King, Jr., and a lot of other people who have had far more impact on history than you ever will. Let me know, folks. If this is an idea we can run with, let's do it. If not, hey, I'm only out 8 bucks.
See you in the morning, I hope.
