Resume time. I would venture to say that many many many Dailykos members' experience trumps that of Sarah Palin.
I'll start with Markos himself. He has longer and greater executive experience that Palin. He runs a site that has more members than Alaska. Kos has more foreign policy experience. He is a military veteran and has a passport and has traveled - and lived - in several parts of the world. His voice, many say, has been more influential over the past six years than anything Sarah Palin has said. He also has a law degree which makes him more educated than Governor Palin.
And take me, BoyBlue, for another example. Like Kos, my law degree trumps Palin's journalism bachelor's by a large margin. I have more executive experience than she has. And I have had to make tougher decisions tha she has by being the head of a large law enforcement union with over ten thousand members. I also seem to have gotten more accomplished on an executive level than she has: I lobbied hard and won for my union due process rights, the right to bargain, and several pay increases (this was in a red state).
My foreign policy experience also puts hers to shame (she has none, so this shouldn't be that difficult). I have had a passport for years and have traveled to many countries; many times on humanitarian missions. Here, closer to home, I have provided life-saving water for Mexican immigrants lost in the heat of the Arizona summer on the Arizona/Mexican border. All the while evading the "Sinaloa Cowboys", a very violent, sinister, and major trafficker of drugs and the smuggling of humans across the border. Okay, that last sentence was a wee bit of an exaggeration. But, hell, the McCain camp exaggerates worse than that on an hourly basis.
Finally, I'd nominate my mom. She also has a passport. She's visited other countries. She's 58 and a spitting image of Hillary Clinton. I'm serious, they could almost pass for twins. And, of course, being a professional and a female boomer, my mom was hardcore for Hillary Rodham Clinton and WAS dubious about Obama until our wonderful convention. She never seriously considered NOT voting for the Obama ticket, but was blown-away by Obama's address in front of 85,000 people.
Furthermore, when my mom had a pregnant 17 year old daughter back in 1988, my mother counseled - did not force - my sister to have an abortion rather than be stuck raising a child she was not prepared to raise both emotionally, financially, and just the fact that she was far too young to have a baby. My sister chose to have an abortion. That, right there, makes me more comfortable with my mom as VP than Sarah Palin EVER could.
However, I have another sister who lives in NH, is a fundie, has a child with autism, and has no education. I'm sure the NH GOP is right now courting her to run for Governor against Lynch next time out.
Hey, Kossaks, what makes YOU have more qualifications and experience that the illustrious Governor Sarah Palin? This is snark, so let er rip! Resume time!
