The chorus continues from the McSame/Palin camp:
Drill Drill Drill Drill ...
Followed up by Drill Drill Drill ...
I know we're not surprised by mindless repetition of bad policy talking points, but the point is we need to exploit every opportunity for pushback on this. It's no mistake that Sarah Palin is being touted as an "energy expert" from (comparatively) oil-rich Alaska -- that's their economic plan in a nutshell (did I mention Drill Drill Drill?)
Meanwhile, the political pressure is mounting on our side to cave, which is something that, unfortunately enough, they seem kind of good at doing.
What are we good at doing here at DKos? Online organizing.
To my point, after the jump...
With the mindless chorus from the rank corporatists on the right, we've got to give some breathing room to those fighting the good fight from the left.
So, take a 15 second break from the Palindrone to fill out a web petition from the Apollo Alliance, a coalition of business, labor, environmental, and community leaders working to catalyze a clean energy revolution in America to reduce our nation’s dependence on foreign oil, cut the carbon emissions that are destabilizing our climate, and expand opportunities for American businesses and workers.
Full Petition Text:
We, the undersigned, petition the U.S. Congress to act immediately to secure America's energy future. We call upon the Congress to say no to coastal drilling in protected areas and yes to a comprehensive solution, a 'New Apollo Program' for America, that will invest in clean, renewable energy and homegrown fuels, and create millions of high-quality, green-collar jobs.
We can solve America's energy crisis with an American solution, a 'New Apollo Program' for America that will create clean energy and good jobs and end our nation's dependence on oil.
