Today Secretary of State Condi Rice met with the man behind the slaughter of over 250 innocents, the victims of Pan Am Flight 103, in December 1988.
Condi was all smiles.
Let's not forget:
Over the past year, and especially within the past month or so, Gadhafi has made nice with the U.S. and, so, we're making nice with Libya.
Now should we condemn Rice, and President Bush, for wheeling and dealing with a terrorist and dictator like Gadhafi, when he's worked to "make amends" on the world stage? Maybe, maybe not. But that's not the issue. The issue is the rank hypocrisy of the Bush Administration (nothing new here, of course) when it comes to selective cozying up to this dictator or PetroDictatorship (Gadhafi, Musharraf, the Saudi Princelings) while vilifying and, uh, sometimes invading others (Saddam/Iraq) while virtually ignoring others (Osama bin Laden).
Thing is, the U.S. could've just as easily ended up invading Libya in 2003 (unlike Saddam, Gadhafi had a proven track-record of mass-killing Americans) while reaching a rapprochement with Saddam Hussein (he was a secularist who hated bin Laden, and the Iranian leaders). And, for good measure, remember that Musharraf -- Bush's BF4Ever, and ally, did a deal with Taliban sympathizers holed-up on the Pak-Afghanistan border a couple of years ago.
So, just reporting.
You decide how insightful and smart NeoRepublicans are when it comes to crafting a sensible foreign policy. Oh, by the way, McCain's a Republican. And Palin, well, she's an idiot who doesn't know crap. But Alaska is next to Russia.
