Digg it.
According to fellow Alaskans, Sarah Palin is a racist.
This is hearsay. But then again, people recommend reading editorials written by unreliable New Yorkers all the time. And there are only 60 days left until the election. Hearsay or not, every American deserves to have access to this story.
Update [2008-9-6 1:16:0 by Paul Anderson]: Keep it coming, we've added 50% to the Diggs in the last 20 minutes.
Update [2008-9-6 1:16:0 by Paul Anderson]: Good. The Diggs have doubled. Better than nothing. And now hopefully people will have a bit more access to this information, so they can judge it's value for themselves. I for one take Lucille the waitress from Wasilla a lot more seriously than I take a lot of the unnamed sources our so-called journalists provide us with these days... that's for sure.
“Alaskans Speak (In A Frightened Whisper): Palin Is “Racist, Sexist, Vindictive, And Mean”
“So Sambo beat the bitch!”
...
According to Lucille, the waitress serving her table at the time and who asked that her last name not be used, Gov. Palin was eating lunch with five or six people when the subject of the Democrat’s primary battle came up. The governor, seemingly not caring that people at nearby tables would likely hear her, uttered the slur and then laughed loudly as her meal mates joined in appreciatively.
It was kind of disgusting,” Lucille, who is part Aboriginal, said in a phone interview after admitting that she is frightened of being discovered telling folks in the “lower 48” about life near the North Pole.
Then, almost with a sigh, she added, “But that’s just Alaska.”
Racial and ethnic slurs may be “just Alaska” and, clearly, they are common, everyday chatter for Palin.
Besides insulting Obama with a Step-N’-Fetch-It, “darkie musical” swipe, people who know her say she refers regularly to Alaska’s Aboriginal people as “Arctic Arabs” – how efficient, lumping two apparently undesirable groups into one ugly description – as well as the more colourful “mukluks” along with the totally unimaginative “f**king Eskimo’s,” according to a number of Alaskans and Wasillians interviewed for this article.
Digg this article so that others also have that chance.
I looked up the blogger who's done the investigative reporting on this. He's from Milwaukee and I guess lives in Toronto. He looks like a freak... but reading through his blog posts, they're really pretty decent. Good topics. He seems to be pretty intelligent and I didn't see anything particularly kooky.
There are 4 people listed by Intelius living in Wasilla, AK named Lucille. There is also a Lake Lucille nearby.
