I am fricking pissed off to no end at the cheap, dirty tactics the McCain camp is using with these "rescued"... I mean STOLEN flags from the DNC. How dare you? How dare you reduce our flag- the one I wear proudly on my right shoulder to your slimy little political game? You should be ashamed of yourself, John McCain.
You served honorably and you were a POW. We get it, and we appreciate your service. But Mr. McCain serving honorably in the past will never be a substitute for acting with honor in the present.
Senator McCain I'm soon to be on my second tour of duty in Iraq. Unlike you I feel invading Iraq was a huge mistake, but you will never hear me complain about going. We all agreed to serve our country as it sees fit, and I will never abandon my fellow Soldiers.
As a former Marine and now Paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne Infantry Division I have served with Soldiers and Marines from all walks of life. We all come from different backgrounds and we all have our own core beliefs. Some of us come from wealthier upbringings and some of us come from poor families. Some of us come from the city and some from the country. We are old, young, black, white, Asian, Hispanic, you name it. We are Democrats, Republicans and Independence and we all love our country just the same.
But you just don't seem to get it. You want to undermine the very fabric of our country's flag by politicizing it.
Senator McCain, how many of our country's veterans were in that stadium proudly waiving those flags- as 84,000 Democrats cried 'U-S-A' in cadence? Screw them, right? So long as you win your popularity contest.
On more than one occasion Obama has tried to show you the higher path but apparently you have failed to get the memo.
Memo: John Sidney McCain III
Subject: Patriotism Has No Party
The times are too serious, the stakes are too high for this same partisan playbook. So let us agree that patriotism has no party. I love this country, and so do you, and so does John McCain. The men and women who serve in our battlefields may be Democrats and Republicans and Independents, but they have fought together and bled together and some died together under the same proud flag. They have not served a Red America or a Blue America - they have served the United States of America.
So I've got news for you, John McCain. We all put our country first.
UPDATE: Here is a picture of the flags that allegedly in bags to the thrown away.
Tell me, where is the garbage? That stadium must have been filled with trash, litter, cans, cups, confetti, balloons, etc. And yet here these flags are, fully consolidated and separated. Has one single pundit made this observation?
