This morning on Meet the Press Tom Brokaw, quoting a New York Post headline this morning, asked Joe Biden:
Here's another headline that appeared in the New York Post. Oprah Winfrey decided not to have Sarah Palin on her show before the election.
"No-Prah" is the New York Post headline. "TV's first lady's Palin insult" as they called it. Oprah did come out for Barack Obama and had him on her show. Do you think some people will think that as an elitist position? That in some ways Democrats may be afraid of Sarah Palin?
I am so fucking sick of this media. I had thought Tom Brokaw had some modicum of respect, but I am learning he is a total and complete hack.
Is this an elitist position? Is it elitist for Oprah to not have Palin on? Are you fucking kidding me? Is the New York Post not owned by Rupert Murdoch? Was the rumor not started by Matt Drudge? Are these people credible? Is Sarah Palin even available for interviews?
The Sarah Palin tornado of controversy has sucked in enough people on enough sides of the political and culture wars as it is. Now it may be about to draw in the biggest participant of all -- Oprah. As Oprah Winfrey's newest season begins, a possible guest for her show would be expected to be the first female Vice Presidential nominee. But Sarah Palin may not be Oprah Winfrey's cup of tea because Oprah Winfrey has been a hard core Barack Obama supporter for some time. As Sarah Palin begins to make inroads into Barack Obama's lead for John McCain, Oprah may about to be drawn into the controversy by not inviting Palin on her show.
The Drudge Report first broke the rumors that Oprah had no plans to invite Sarah Palin onto her show, and the possible behind-the-scenes turmoil that may be causing. Many people on the Oprah Winfrey staff are reported to be arguing for Sarah Palin's invitation to the show. But those same reports hint that Oprah and some of her brass is against it because of Palin's efforts against Barack Obama.
Why is it a controversy for Oprah to not have on Palin? Because she and Barack are black and she and Palin are women? I don't get it? Has Joe Biden been on the show?
How in the world does Tom Brokaw wonder if this is elitist?
I never hear the elitist word thrown around the McCain's hundreds of millions of dollars. But Barack Obama and Oprah Winfrey, both Americans born into relatively humble beginnings who have become successful somehow attract the elitist description more often than the inherited wealth of the McCain's.
Neither Oprah nor Barack were born to an Admiral (McCain) or a Governor (Romney) or a enormously successful businessman (Cindy McCain) or US President (Bush), but somehow these two successful African Americans are elitist.
Thanks for playing along Brokaw, you total fucking hack.
UPDATE: Gooserock pointed out and satanipanic confirm in the comments that Obama was never on Oprah's show as a candidate.
Completely different standards which the duplicitous Brokaw ignores.
