There is a great essay from the Fairbanks Daily News Miner on Palin and earmarks. It is published in today's Philadelphia Inquirer. See below for more and link.
Today's Philadelphia Inquirer features an essay republished from the Fairbanks Daily News Miner on Palin's history with regard to earmarks. It's very interesting that the commentary has been republished in one of the keystone state's largest circulation newspapers. You can read it: here.
Can anyone report if this essay has been published in other battleground states? Has it been picked up by mainstream media?
The essay goes straight to an issue that is of critical importance in understanding Senator McCain's candidacy: hypocrisy. Both Senator McCain and Governor Palin will say anything to get elected, as demonstrated with regard to Governor Palin in this essay. She was for the bridge before she was against it, and won't be bothered with the truth if it gets in her way.
By the way, if you look at the letters to the editor in the Philadelphia Inquirer today you will see an inspiring letter from a mother of a disabled child objecting to how Palin has injected her own child into the political process, noting that there is nothing in the Republican Platform or on the McCain website suggesting support for children with disabilities, whereas support is in clear evidence in both the Democratic Platform and the Obama website. You can read the letters to the editor here. The first letter is the one I'm referring to, but the others are good, too.
