So Palin's a maverick bucking her own GOP party? And she'll help McCain lead the charge to reform Washington? Then why are Bush and Cheney supporting her in force for the GOP ticket? Is there really any difference between these four?
I can see an Obama ad now...
According to Halperin's The Page, Bush tells Fox in an interview airing Tuesday that Palin's a "very dynamic, capable, smart woman." And, he added, "McCain made an inspired pick."
And Cheney, talking with reporters today while in Rome, says he "loved" Palin's convention speech and believes she could be an effective vice president.
Interesting! Weren't we told Palin was the one who bucked her own GOP party and that McCain bucked the GOP, too -- and that they're the new reform team ready to charge into Washington and shake things up? So why, then, aren't Bush and Cheney laying low? Because: this splashy new version of McCain/Palin reform is really just a big wink-and-a-nod on both sides so as to guarantee GOP right wing policies for another four years.
The irony is sweet. McCain and Palin are right-wingers in moose clothing. If Bush and Cheney support them, who in heck are McCain and Palin bucking?
McCain/Palin = Bush/Cheney
