I am a 39 year old black woman.  I have an undergraduate degree, a law degree, passed the bar the first time, have a masters of law, and I am published.  I presently work in a field where my director is a white woman from Mississippi who graduated from high school.  That's right-HIGH SCHOOL.  We have a building full of black people who are overly qualified to run every department, but we have total illiterates running things.  What business am I talking about?  FEMA!  That's right, more cronyism from the Republican led Department of Homeland Security.  We as African Americans are held to an impossibly high standard.  If we don't have the education and qualifications, they won't even consider us.  If we do have them, then we are uppity or think we're better than other people, so we are put in our place by having to work under non-qualified people who are white

UPDATE:  I never thought anything I wrote would require a tip jar, but, I guess I just have to ask for one, right?

It's called "the black tax".  I'm sure every black person, and even some whites, understand what I am talking about.

Obama has an I.Q. of 172, graduated from Columbia with a degree in International Relations, graduated summa cum laude from Harvard law, was editor in chief of law review, worked as a community organizer in CHICAGO (that's some hard work for no money) and was a Constitutional law professor.  Do you know how hard Constitutional law is? He served 8 years in the Illinois legislature, 4 years in the U.S. Senate, has drafted over 800 bills, has published two best-selling books, has a squeaky clean background (so clean they had to chase his pastor and a man he works with at a college).

John McCain graduated at the bottom of his class and minus the POW years, this man has never wanted for anything.  Palin was running for Miss Wasilla while Obama was helping real people.  She was a part time mayor of a town of 7000 people, and a governor of 18 months in a state with 600,000 people.  If she were black, she would NEVER be offered a v.p. spot.  Never.  They try to compare Palin's and Obama's experience and intellect, but there really is no comparison.  She is such a sensation because she is a hillbilly white woman that people feel comfortable about because most of us are smarter than her.

AREN'T YOU TIRED OF HAVING POLITICIANS THAT ARE DUMB AS A BOX OF ROCKS? I personally think the leader of the free world should be the best and brightest we have to offer, not a woman who took 7 years and 6 colleges to get a freakin' undergraduate degree in Journalism.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
