Apparently, Charlie Gibson will interview Governor Palin this week in Alaska. Reportedly, no subject will be off-limits.
So as to avoid any flag pin related lines of inquiry, I thought it might be helpful to compile a list of truly important questions that Palin should answer.
My suggestions appear below, but I warmly invite everyone to add to the list.
- Who is the president of the United States Senate?
- If Senator McCain is elected President, he may have an opportunity to nominate one or more Supreme Court justices to fill future vacancies. If (President) McCain selected a pro-choice nominee, and the Senate was deadlocked 50-50 on a confirmation vote, would you vote to approve the nominee even though he/she was pro-choice?
- Should the Federal Government have the right to impose criminal penalties on citizens who use marijuana in compliance with the laws enacted by their State Government? (e.g. state authorized medicinal use)
- How do you explain your change of position regarding your support for the "bridge to nowhere?"
- Do you believe in evolution?
- If you became President by succession, you would be commander in chief of the nation's military. How would respond to the following hypothetical conflicts:
(a) Taiwan declares total independence from mainland China and, in response, China threatens a military invasion of Taiwan.
(b) Turkey invades and occupies the Kurdistan province of Iraq.
(c) Iran acquires material enabling it to construct a nuclear weapon within months. Israel plans to conduct preemptive airstrikes on Iran, and asks for US assistance.
(d) Russian moves significant armored tank units and nuclear weapons into the Kaliningrad Oblast
