Today in reponse to the twisted perversion that allowed Barack's efforts on protecting children from pedophiles to be used in a political ad, made me wonder if there isn't away to create a 24/7 on-line, rapid response chat room.
The campaign would select five to seven people at a time to monitor the media and send responses and reflections to a chat room. We would get assigned to be availabe on-line in shifts so there's always someone monitoring activity. The best ideas could go forward to create ads and responses. While the campaign leadership is great, the more ideas the better the chance for a biting response that will stick.
We're looking for memorable retorts, one-liners and phrases that will be remembered long after the campaign is history and Barack is getting mail at 1600 Pennsylvania avenue.
For example, even if Barack had meant Palin in the "lipstick on a pig" story. Barack did her a favor. He elevated the metaphor she chose for herself, a pitbull, to the noble pig. This is a smart, sensitive animal (see Charlotte's Web). So Barack's swine positively trumps the moosewoman's canine.
Chris Matthews is pushing an American Gothic, elect the couple theme. That didn't work well for the Clintons. And since these two are running as political partners and are not married, this is going down a positively icky road. Feet of the master? Hardball suggested she sit in the front row and gaze at McCain during the debate(s). What!!!
Also, what is more sexist than preventing her from assuming her responsibilities on the trail. No the pitbull with lipstick is being kept in strict control of all male handlers--another icky thought. It's sexist of the campaign to parade a woman in a rather tight skirt and to only allow her to utter the same scripted lines. This is a puppet. She's Charlene McCarthy for those old enough to remember Edgar Bergen (Murphy Brown's father for those who remember the old sitcom.)
Finally, one piece of advice for Joe Biden. Treat her as though you're addressing Cheney in the debates. Since she parrots his sentiments, just forget she's anything but Cheney in a dress. If he thinks Cheney when he looks at her, he'll do great.
