After John McCain's "Lipstick on a Pig" video was pulled by YouTube this afternoon for a copyright violation claim by CBSNews over the use of 5 month old footage of Katie Couric, the McCain Campaign Truth Squad was back at work immediately claiming their special brand of faux outrage over Obama's "Old Fish" statement
"You can put lipstick on a pig," Obama said. "It's still a pig. You can wrap an old fish in a piece of paper called change. It's still going to stink after eight years."
The McCain Campaign and the National Republican Party held a joint barbecue for the media at an undisclosed location and in a mutual statement read by Karl Rove said, "it's obvious that when Barack Obama said "old fish" it was a direct and hurtful smear against John McCain who would be the oldest President ever elected.
An Obama spokesperson said, "the old fish metaphor was not directed at McCain and has been around a long, long time, almost since before John McCain was even born.
The Obama spokesperson also said, "old fish" is not in anyway related to the McCain/Palin ticket now widely known amongst those outside of the Republican Party as Mr. Incontinence and Mrs. Incompetence.
