Today I sent out an email to friends and family detailing the lies and deception of Barrack Obama's record by the McCain campaign. I received the usual responses. Including one from my uncle with a link to politifact.com and a note "it's a two way street."
I replied to my uncle "thanks for the link. It is a two way street, so let's take a look at both sides of that street."
Below the fold are the numbers:
• Barack Obama has 30 statements that are rated by politifact as either "barely true" or false statements. None of these are rated as "lies"
• John McCain has 47 statements that are either barely true, false and five outright lies "pants on fire."
• John McCain has 45 true or mostly true statements.
• Barrack Obama has 62 true or mostly true statements.
To sum it up, John McCain lies more often than Barrack Obama and Barrack Obama tells the truth more often than John McCain.
In the final analysis, we can't know with complete certainty how someone will govern, we have to take them at their word and I always find it easier to take the word of someone when that word is truthful. For my vote, too much is at stake to vote for someone who has a record of being dishonest. Obama's been more truthful. That's the ultimate mark of a man to me.
