Like waking up in a sewer every morning and having to hold your nose. That's how Senator Jim Webb described running against George Allen.
For Barack, running against John "I left my honor in Vietnam" McCain takes sewer living to a whole new level. Nothing but slime, smears, lies, and innuendo 24 hours a day seven days a week.
John McCain may've served honorably in Vietnam but serving honorably in civilian life counts too. Lets not forget the Keating Five scandal.
Serving honorably in war is no guarantee that such honorable behavior will occur in civilian life we have only to look at the former Republican congressman Randy Duke Cunningham the highly decorated Vietnam vet who is now serving time in prison for bribery.
Everyone thought John McCain would run an honorable campaign, right? The ole maverick was different so they thought. But when the chips were down he quickly brought in the Rovian team to take over. Whatever it takes for victory that's McCain's ONLY motto. Where is the honor in that??
If McCain should win, based upon his current pattern he would resort to Rovian tactics to govern particularly when things get tough as we know they will ... The measure of a man is what he will do WHEN things get tough so we need to pay close attention to what he is doing now.
John was a POW many many years ago BUT a lot has changed since then including John McCain. Whatever honor John McCain had, it was left behind in Vietnam make no mistake about that.
