WOW! Another milestone for Mojo Friday. The 1 Year Anniversary of our spin off. What started as a spoof of our fun here has turned into an important part of the fun. And the Post Game Show has become it's own institution.
When Goffnews posted the first; Good, Bad & Beautiful: A Mojo Friday Postgame Show little did he realize what he was getting into. I was flattered by the post and I'm still in his debt. Without MFPGS Mojo Friday would not be nearly as much fun as it has become. Thank you Goffnews.
We (MF and MFPGS) have grown substantially since then. According to the first MFPGS we only had 418 total comments. We hit that number in the first 20-30 minutes now. Only 12,263 mojo was dispensed. Now we usually hit around 85,000 mojo dispensed by the first posting of stats at 4:30 PM EDT, 3:30 PM CDT (goffnews time).
Let's see a little flavor of that first one.
At the risk of being accused of being a humorless, overanalyzing creep...
And at the risk of being accused of being a huuuuge geek...
And at the risk of being accused of completely missing the point of Mojo Friday...
And perhaps most of all at the risk of being accused of having toooo much time on my hands...
I would like to present a postgame analysis of today's Mojo Friday - Bush-Ed Edition. Follow along, if you dare...
To get the complete flavor you need to read the complete diary and the comments.
After the first MFPGS goffnews and I had several discussions that more or less set the pattern for those that followed. There have a few modifications but mostly we set the formula then.
Goffnews deserves major kudos for posting this every week. While I have had many substitutes, Goffnews has been there every week.
Time to Celebrate
Congratulations to goffnews!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Mojo Friday Guidelines
1. If you comment you have to recommend all comments. (in order to recieve mojo you have to give mojo. It's only good mojo manners.)
2. Everything you say may be taken as a joke (so if you ask a question, expect a silly answer)
3. You must recommend the diary (and pimp it unapologetically)
4. You don't have to comment to recommend.
5. You can't steal my idea (right, like that ain't goin' to happen)
6. Please, no pictures or YouTubes until after 300 comments
7. Mojo mojo mojo mojo, mojo mojo mojo
Mojo Friday Goals
A. at least 300 different commenters and 1000 comments by 1:30 PM EST and 1500 by 5:00 PM EST Friday Night that it's posted.
B. 100 recommends for each comment, at least.
C. Stay on Recommend List at least five hours (this requires some strategic planning by you guys, refer to guideline #3)
D. At least 200 diary recommends. 300 would be better, spread the word.
E. And always, fun fun fun.
F. Have at least 75% average participation rate as seen here in the Mojo Friday Postgame Show by goffnews.
G. (New) Have at least 30 kossacks over 90% participation (see here for some tips).
H. Overload the servers with recommends, not to mention dominate Top Comments Mojo list. (we do tend to mess with the site with all of our recommends at one time)(also, to dominate the Top Comments Top Mojo we need at least 50 comments with over 100 recommends, see guideline B)
I. That's enough for now. (Have a suggestion? Post it.)
MKinTN posted a diary to help everyone achieve greater success called How to Succeed at Mojo Friday Without Really Trying.
SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT
The auction is back! Netroots Nation will be holding an online auction fundraiser in October. Right now, we're in need of items to auction off from the community. You can submit anything from political memorabilia to home made cookies. We've had all sorts of things to auction off in the past. It's a fun process and a great cause. We're also looking for volunteers to help with pre-auction publicity, and to help out with publicity during the event. Anyone with items to donate or who is interested in helping out, please send an email to mailto:auctions@netrootsnation.org.
Thanks again for helping out!

Personal Notes UPDATED
My mother was turned down as a viable liver transplant candidate. So her treatment will be as aggressive as her body allows. Thank you all for your prayers and comments in regards to her health.
By the time this post I will have had my cardioversion. It was rescheduled to 8:30 AM EDT today. I hope to be aware enough by at least noon to visit with you today.
Due to an error I made earlier, an extraordinary offer was made by boofdah. Boofdah offered to give my Mom a kidney. What can one say to that. However, the organ transplant that my Mom needs is a liver. I have made the correction, but I wanted to acknowledge boofdah's offer. Bless you Boofdah.
