Stations running out of gas in U.S.
This is an information diary, to let those know who have not gotten gas yet, to go get it NOW while there is still some to get.
News: per CNN gas production will be stopped for at least the next two days, and if the hurricane damages refineries than it will be stopped longer
Even here in Knoxville, Tn. we already have stations closed due to running out and others with police directing lines.
I finally found some 89 octane still available, but I just wanted everyone to know, it is crazy out there so go get gas and fill up your car.
Just wanted everyone aware of the run on gas!
UPDATE: The following is from weather.com - it isn't just about supplies, it is about price - for the reason why people are going and getting gas now.
But along the Gulf Coast, wholesale prices -- what refineries charge retailers, who then mark up prices at the pump -- rose to nearly $5 a gallon, up from $3 to $3.30 a gallon on Wednesday, according to Tom Kloza, publisher of the Oil Price Information Service.
Even before making landfall, the storm interfered with oil refining and chemical operations clustered around Houston.
I am just informing people, about what is happening in my area with the gas. Be right or not people are making a run on it.
