I just spent two days in the reddest state in the Midwest. Home of the Hoosiers, the great 'In God We Trust' state of Indiana. Which may not be as red as I once thought.
Maybe it was because I was in the cosmopolitan urban center that is Indianapolis. Or maybe the suburb of Greenwood is a enclave of Democrats surrounded by Republicans. I fully expected to be surrounded by Red Neck Republicans. However, I have yet to see 1 McCain bumper sticker or yard sign. Everyone I talked to had no strong devotion to the GOP.
A few people even told me that Indiana WAS a red state but that has changed recently. They thought it was more 50/50 now. I know that some polling doesn't back this up but, I was encouraged by this visit.
Could the Hoosier State actually be moving into play?!?!?
