ENOUGH!
This site is supposed to be a bastion for liberals. We have a phenomenal nominee...but do we discuss what did Obama do today? do we emphasize his message? do we augment his arguments?
Hell no!
we allow fear and desperation to rule the day.
I bet you we have Rove minions among us who spread the fears.
and independent observer will take one look at the liberal blogs and decide that Obama is finished
I had ENOUGH!
Starting today, I will make sure that we know what our nominee and or his VP did ..
report on the town hall meetings, discuss the message, provide press links from the local papers, embed videos.
The Obama campaign is staying on message.....so should we
productive criticism is welcome when it's devoid of panic, and it's actually you know.....constructive.
Edit:
I hope others will do the same. Let's not just report is something "interesting" is said...no....when ever Barack, Joe, Michelle,Jill, Hillary, Bill... conduct a campaign event, let's do our duty and report what the lazy media will not do.
So
Obama was in New Hampshire today, he discussed his tax policy and pledged to the people of NH no new taxes for the middle class.
"I pledge to you that under my plan, no one making less than $250,000 a year will see any form of tax increase. Not income tax, not capital gains taxes, not any kind of tax."
The Union leader has a good report about the town hall meeting.
Obama said that 19 months after his first stop in New Hampshire, "one thing hasn't changed. That is, the American people and the people of New Hampshire know this country is on the wrong track, and you know that we need new leadership in Washington."
Obama said the McCain campaign "has simply been dishonest" by alleging Obama will raise taxes. He said that under his plan, "we will cut taxes for 95 percent of working Americans."
Glen Grasso, a 39-year-old Ph.D. candidate from Dover, pressed Obama to step up his counter-attack against what he called a "smear campaign" by McCain and the Republicans.
"Our ads have been pretty tough," Obama said. "I just have a different philosophy and that is that I'm going to respond with the truth.
"I can guarantee that we are going to be hitting back hard," Obama said. "But we're hitting back on the issues that matter to families. I'm not going to start making up lies about John McCain.
"If they lie about us, then we will correct the record," he said. "But this election is too important, it's too serious. I'm not going to be playing silly games."
When Obama said that McCain campaign were distorting his record, some in the audience shouted, "Lies."
Obama agreed, saying, "Lies. That's a good word for it."
This video have great talking points about the Obama tax plan
The goal of my diary is to have people with experience on tax policy explain and provide talking points to counter republicans smear.
let this be a constructive discussion on how to formulate a winning argument and how to make that argument reach as many people as possible.
