"I was a Man of Peace," Barack Obama said today."But this time, they pushed me too far. I came into this election to talk about substance, and they got nothin'. So they started lying. Last time I checked, we've just suffered through 8 years of liars. Lies have consequences. More than 4,000 servicemen and women have died as a result of Republican lies. Thousands more maimed, wounded, and dumped in sub-standard VA facilities that have been left underfunded by my opponent the veteran. Iraq was behind 9/11? A lie. Trumped-up phony evidence of Weapons of Mass Destruction? A lie. Mission Accomplished, Osama on the run? We'll wrap this up, greeted as liberators in Baghdad? Lies, all lies. George W. Bush is a liar. Dick Cheney is a liar. John McCain is a liar. Sarah Palin is a liar. It never ends with these people. Apparently, it's in their blood -- runs in the Party's bloodlines like a bad gene, like a disease. Enough. It's time for new blood."
Sound good? Well I'm sorry to report that nobody affiliated with the Democratic Party said anything like that today.

Will we ever reah the tipping where a Democratic presidential nominee will stand tall for himself and for us?
Democratic. presidential nominees, and Democratic office holders with too few exceptions, cannot bring themselves stand tall.
Will the tipping point, when Democratic candidates and Democratic office holers say "Enough!" and mean it, ever be reached? That moment obviously has not yet arrived. The blame is not only in our Republican party opposition.
Senator Obama has not yet stood tall. Although did say "Enough!" during his acceptance speech, he has not since then behaved as if he meant it. I could site many examples. But I'll give just one: Meeting with the press after their joint 9/11 appearance Senator McCain said our candidate was to blame for the negative tone of the campaign because he did not accept an invitation to a series of town hall meetings. Did anyone hear Senator Obama call him on that? If he really meant "Enough!" would he have let that slur pass?
Will the tipping point, when progressives like you and I say "Enough!" and mean it, ever be reached? That moment obviously has not yet arrived! The blame is not only in our candidates and our representatives. It is in ourselves.
We, you and I with too few exceptions to prevent our candidates recent slide, have not yet stood tall: We have not adorned our Obama yard signs and bumper magnates with flag icons and have therefore allowed this race to become a race between Senator Obama and flag waving patriotism; we have wrung our hands; we have used dailydos as a playground to show off u-tube tricks; we have not hosted events in our neighborhoods; we have allowed Vets For Peace to show their public disapproval of continuing war while we remain invisible at our keyboards.
If you know anything about recovery and 12 step programs, you know that change happens when the individual/group in need of change finally hits rock bottom. At that tipping point he/she will say "Enough!" and mean it ... one day at a time!
When it comes to progressive values, we and our fellow Democrats claim to hold, will a tipping point ever be reached?
