Looks like the wheels are finally coming off the obama presidential bandwagon. After his meteoric rise in the primaries there could be an even more spectacular blow-out in the election proper.Governor palin really has put the cat among the pigeons as far as the democrats are concerned.Since her nomination as the republican vp she has breathed new life into the republican push for the white house. She is really resonating with voters and is drawing the big crowds that only obama had been able to achieve up to this. She has been instrumental in closing the gap in the opinion polls. Some polls even have mccain ahead of obama at this point in the campaign.
The democrats are at sixes and sevens at the moment. They are at a loss to know how to handle the enigma that is governor palin. They have even stooped to attacking her through her family. It's not that long ago that obama said that candidates families were off limits.I guess the rules of engagement change when you are staring defeat in the face.Obama is at his best when he is giving speeches in public. He is not as effective when it's a one on one situation like an interview or a debate. He looked very uncomfortable this week during the bill o reilly interview. At last he was being asked real questions instead of being molly-coddled.His answers regarding rev wright and bill ayers were sub standard to say the least and wont have won many voters. His previous acquaintances are a call for concern and he passed up a great chance here to put the matter to bed once and for all.Chosing sarah palin was a master stroke by john mccain. She will get a lot of the hillary clinton democrats who are angry over the way she was treated. She will also get a lot of young voters who were worried about mccains age.The longer obama spends attacking palin will only serve to give a free run to mccain. He hasn't much ammunition to use on her as they are both short on experience.Another worry for him is the up coming debates. He fared badly against hillary in their debates and i think he wont do much better against mccain.Mccain is not much of an orator but his debate skills are top notch. All in all it looks like obama is on a downward spiral unless something happens soon.
