I can understand the political venom being a turn off, but what drew you to dkos specifically? This a liberal thinktank with a "republicanesque" air for equivalent exchange in disgust. The them vs us mentality is relatable to any group, liberal or neo-con, what is it that drew you to dkos rather than Senator Obama?
Dkos themselves view the world as if the world is against progressive & logical thought. All run by neo-cons and actually depictions of mussolini and pinochet type governments are no different than neo-cons. The neo-cons in the real world are nothing more than elites who control the masses through manipulation and outright lies. Using the quote from nazi propaganda, "repeat a lie enough times, it becomes true to many and false to only the few".
Dkos prides itself in being a minority player in politics, people that say they hate liberal blogs, somehow seem to think dkos is the instigator when in reality the community and network of people actually commit to doing research and prove beyond a shadow of a doubt the lies and fabrications of Neo-con spin and MSM BS. To affect change from something that is awash in a sea of millions of personal and public political blogs is a feat, but to also pickup as many enemies as friends is something else. From watching papa bear chastise dkos and hearing about this blog through many MSM outlets who feature many truths because of dkos, what made you want to join this blog. What is it that you hope to accomplish from interacting with logical and intelligent free thinkers?
I myself have become a recent member but was a lurker for many months. I view the world religiously and secularly. my personal view and beliefs would actually come in total conflict with many posters here on this site. In fact my personal beliefs would make me more conservative than the most conservative people there is. But I am neutral to the public eye because unlike those that wishes to impose a singular view, i enjoy counterpoint discussions and viewpoints to understand and to enjoy debate, but also it represents harmony. If evil did not exist why should there be any good. Religiously i am considered a moderate to my own religion, but compare that to say a typical Evangelist Christian, Id be too conservative even for them. Now why did I join Dkos?
- I believe that to have simply a one tract mind, only makes you a puppet not a free thinker, I make my own decisions, I am not to be told what to think or what to do about my views.
- I understand that this is not a me society, there are 6 billion other people on this planet, my views are the only thing thats individualistic, if i do not have that....why exist at all?
- If you really think about it, we only exist for a very short period of time on this planet, if you somehow believe that to just go with the flow is a good thing then all youve done is wasted you time and life for nothing.
I end with a passage that guides me everyday, please think about it before replying to this post, and thanks for reading!
In the words of Carl Sagan, "we are drifting in space shoved into a galaxy with 100 Million stars, in that galaxy we are but 200 BillioN or more in number, and yet it only represents 4% of the known, compared to to 96% of the unknown." If only humans could understand their insignificant place in this universe the isms, the perversions of religion, or even the politics of fear would never exist. Too bad, "I derive great pleasure to know that you alone cause your kind to suffer and die, your greed, your lust, your envy....your suffering. To believe that you will eventually be saved is truely the cruelest joke of all." (Mysterious Stranger, Mark Twain paraphrasing)
BY the way, If you havent figured it out Im Muslim.
