Today morning, I was just browsing around idly and stumbled onto a incredible documentary video on right wing radio talk hosts and their hate propaganda.
The story starts on July 28th, 2008...
It was like any other Sunday, I guess for the people attending the Church in Knoxville, Tennessee. The parishioners assembled in the church and were watching a children's musical performance. Their quiet day was rudely and shockingly interrupted by a gun man who came into the church, got their attention by saying some hateful things and started shooting people.
Link of the incident
Two people died for bravely protecting other people in the Church. They truly deserve the highest civilian honor in America.
When the police arrested the killer and investigated the murders, they found that the killer Jim D. Adkisson is jobless man trying to find work and came to hate the liberals because they are destroying this country. Who is he listening to? Who told him that?
Now he tells the police that he hated the Church's liberal policies. Why did he hate them? Was he always homophobic? Having a dislike of gays and other immigrants is one thing, but to take the road of violence and believe that these people in Church are somehow responsible for his joblessness is a total paranoia.
Link of Affidavit
What made him to think elected officials are responsible for his joblessness? Apparently it seems that he reads some of the books which propagate hatred toward the liberals and progressive populations of the US. And who writes these hate preaching books - Our own Sean Hannity and Michael Savage.
He also probably listens to the hate filled speeches of Sean Hannity, Glenn Beck, Michael Savage and Rush Limbaugh like many other 35 million Americans daily on the air-waves and television shows.
Is he a loony? By all terms, yes. But that doesn't make the hate speech right. There is too much hate in the air waves these days for the fellow American citizens. Some of these talk show hosts talk of championing the small town values. All this non-sense about the people living in the cities hating or having a condescending attitude towards small town America is ridiculous.
There are no small town values and high city values. There are only American Values and Moral Values. Don't tell me there are no gays in rural America. Are there no teen pregnancies in rural America? Lots of Hogwash. Don't pull Ahmedenijad on the air waves (He once claimed there are no gays in Iran to a laughter filled audience).Does only rural America loves freedom? No,High city dwellers are also loves freedom.
Guns are equally liked by rural American as well as metropolis Americans. No body likes guns in the hands of the criminals, either in Rural or Urban America. Urban america may not seem to like guns only because most of the criminals are in the urban america. The won't probably use guns because most of them may not find time for hunting. The try to get on with their basics necessities in life.
Any way, back to the story. Without any ado, here is the link for PBS documentary on hate filled radio and TV hosts.
PBS Documentary
My view is that Lou Dobbs and Bill O'Reilly are racists in some ways but not hate promoters. I think we can still give them a benefit of doubt - but they have to watch their mouths carefully not to descend into these kind of hate filled monologues and lose their credibility.
