Earlier today, I pointed out how how insincere Ed Tinsley is when he isn't busy being unstable and stupid. Now there is further evidence:
"Some people will lead you to believe that we can pull a switch and convert to alternative sources very quickly. My goal would see that it happens over a generation," he said. "Certainly we need to move in that direction but we need to be respectful of our domestic oil and gas industry to make sure that they have the ability to drill in areas that have been traditionally off limits and we can demonstrate to the world that we're going to walk the talk."
Does he think that Exxon-Mobil will pack up and leave if we stick our tongue out at them? Get real! How dead does a brain have to be to come up with something like that?
Big oil and gas doesn't need to be respected. It needs to quit fighting environmentalists and get on board to create a responsible energy policy that will move us to renewable and non-polluting energy.
Tinsley again:
"We let our guard down 10, 15 years ago when we began to allow the far extreme environmental groups dictate our energy policy and control a lot of those reserves and resources," he said. "I think now a lot of the people that followed that message are beginning to see maybe it wasn't what it was represented."
Hmmmm. He's referring to either 1998 or 1993. Which one is it? I dunno. It doesn't matter, ultimately. Tinsley keeps talking about the offshore moratorium, but that was put in place twenty-seven year ago. His other wild hair is over the Otero Mesa, which isn't likely to do much of anything.
Tinsley finals spills the beans:
"It's not about Republican and Democratic," he said. "It's about conviction and philosophy on how we go forward in these challenging economic times."
Yep. It's about one side that wants a responsible energy policy and the other that summarizes their policy as "Drill, baby, drill - and drill now."
Ed Tinsley is running for Congress in New Mexico's Second Congressional District - an open seat. Please help turn New Mexico blue and especially help Harry Teague defeat Ed Tinsley. Tinsley is just to dangerous to allow in Congress!
