I just saw this artical at CNN and it seems like Colin is leaning towards Barack Obama for president but has a lot of "respect" for McBush (I suspect that is the McCain of 2000 not 2008). In any case, he seems to be waiting and not endorsing anybody for now.

Could this be planned for a late October surprise endorsement of Obama just as people are making up their final minds of who would make the better Commander in Chief?
Now I know Colin Powell is not the most popular guy at DKos but he still carries a lot of currency with the "security first" people who could be swayed to vote for Obama but are afraid of his lack of experience and percieved "peacenik" tendencies.
A late October endorsement for Obama by Colin Powell, could be a decisive game changer for independents and conservative Democrats in swing states that McBush/Palin could not match and would immediately give Obama a great credential for Commander in Chief.
The election of an African-American president "would be electrifying," Powell told a George Washington University audience, "but at the same time [I have to] make a judgment here on which would be best for America.
This is indeed a powerful statement and hopefully, Colin will make the correct decision for our country...
