I admit I have a healthy dislike for CNN. Wolf Blitzer won't engage in a challenging McCain camp interview if his life depended on it. Lou Dobbs, a pompous ass, is currently supporting some conservative wingnuts by purchasing the racist "Obama Waffles" and now we have Candy Crowley who refuses to do her job as a journalist. More after the break...
First, Candy Crowley states (paraphrased) that it is not her job to say who is a bigger liar and that it is up to the American public to listen to news and decide who is the bigger liar. Here is the glaring problem, if the MSM produces shoddy and uneven coverage, how can the American public make a fair assessment?
Second, she bring up the Obama camp using McCain's statement that the "US is not in a recession" and that "middle class is 5 million dollars" and it not not accurate. The problem is that those statement accurately reflect the McCain camp philosophy, statements and McCain's record. McCain continually states that the "fundamentals of the economy are strong" and from McCain present/former economic adviser Phil Gramm (clarified for those who are looking for a McCain rebuttal!) "Americans are in a mental recession and are a nation of whiners". If you and your wife are worth a $100 million dollars and you repeatedly vote against raising the minimum wage, then it's not far fetched that you can throw around $5 million dollars for the income of a middle class family.
Crowley has lost her integrity by trying to defend McCain's repeated lies and horrific judgment.
Mark Halperin disagrees...am I starting to feel some respect for Halperin?
