My friend Zach and I love to watch Claire McCaskill. We both think she's a great surrogate.
Tonight on Rachel Maddow's show, she's repeated a point now that I have been making for weeks.
Whenever Senator McCain is asked about the tone and tenor of the campaign he is running (or at purports to be running), he responds with that line, or some derivative.
One great instance of this was on the View when Joy Behar. (at around 7:20)
It's such a childish argument. It's like when my brother used to pick fights with me when I wouldn't play with him. And when asked my our mother why he was picking a fight, he'd say "Well, he wouldn't play with me."
I'll post video when it's available.
The Money Quote in the mean time:
And what I love, is every time somebody catches John McCain and says, 'You know, hey, aren't you lying about this," he says, "Ugh, well if only Barack Obama would have come to my townhall meetings," like somehow, Barack Obama not going with the schedule John McCain wanted, is why John McCain can't control his campaign and run it with honor and honesty.
