Jim Inhofe has taken a strong stand in support of torture, both in his words and actions.  Senator Inhofe famously said in a 2004 hearing that he was "outraged by the outrage" over the prisoner abuse scandal at Abu Ghraib, and in 2006 voted against the Detainee Treatment Act, which banned torture of prisoners.

As we walk into the voting booth, we need to remember just what kind of person Jim Inhofe is.  Watch Senator Inhofe speak and determine for yourself just how outrageous Senator Inhofe’s behavior has become.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.

  •  Let's remember this (3+ / 0-)

    It's NOT the economy, stupid.

    It's basic human rights.

Obama/Biden in 2008... because 8 years of George Bush is 12 too many

Most likely "due process" for suspected terrorists or Iraqi prisoners isn't a concern for them. Andrew Rice won't win on this issue.

  •  Inhofe's Prospects (0+ / 0-)

I've lived 53 of my 60 years in my birth state of Oklahoma and can remember it's stanch (Southern) Democratic Party alliance.  With LBJ's signing Civil Rights into law, Oklahoma's mostly conservative religious and agarian population turned it's national vote avidly to the GOP and has never looked back.  Our greatest political drawbacks are the conservative flesh and blood of the largest newspaper in the state as well as virtually all local media.  While it's truly difficult living among the bible-addicts when one is a yellow-dog democrat, I find it easy to believe that Oklahoma will tie on the highest tier with those states with the highest percentage of GOP votes this election.

But I grant you this, Inhofe's politics are a total embarrassment to the human race.
